I recently bought an acer aspire laptop and whenever I remove the charger it switches off

Is it the battery that has fault or what

Mind you this started on the first time of using it

It could be the battery is going bad or it could be the battery is disconnected from the Motherboard

If you would like to troubleshoot, here are some steps you can try resolve the problem:

To reset your Acer laptop using the battery reset pinhole, first ensure the laptop is turned off and unplugged from the AC adapter. Locate the battery reset pinhole on the bottom of your laptop, usually marked with a battery icon. Using a small paperclip or a similar object, press and hold the reset button inside the pinhole for about 5 seconds. After releasing the button, wait for approximately 5 minutes before plugging in the AC adapter and powering on your laptop. This process temporarily disconnects and reconnects the internal battery, which can help resolve power and battery-related issues.

If the battery is charging, perform a battery calibration. Fully charge your laptop, then unplug the charger and let the battery drain completely until the laptop shuts off. Recharge it to 100% without interruption. This can help recalibrate the battery sensor1.

If battery is not charging, update Battery Drivers: Open Device Manager by pressing Win + X and selecting Device Manager. Expand the Batteries category, right-click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows will automatically reinstall the driver

If the problem persists, the battery might be faulty. Since your laptop is new, it should be under warranty. Contact Acer support for further assistance Acer support

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

The "laptop turns off when unplugged" problem could result from a faulty battery. Also it sounds like the problem might be related to the power management settings or the battery driver. Here are a few steps you can try: Check your power management settings: Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options. Make sure the plan is set to "Balanced" or "High performance".
