I have the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57-75QN model. I plugged my screen into my laptop with an HDMI-in to USB-C-out cable and it does not work for some reason. It does work when I only plug it into the HDMI port of my laptop. Could someone please help me with this?

The adapter is Thunderbolt 4 so it shouldn't be an issue and the cable from the screen worked before on my previous laptop.

In the images is the user manual from the adapter cable, just in case.

Hi, the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57-75QN has a Thunderbolt 4 (TBT4) port that supports DisplayPort (DP) Alt Mode on the USB-C port. This means you can connect external monitors using an HDMI to DisplayPort hub/docking station. Both of these 2 hubs will work: UGREEN (US320/70450) USB Type-C to HDMI Female Adapter – PC Express and UA520C | USB Type-C to HDMI Adapter | TP-Link Philippines Note that most hubs are Plug & Play adapters, but some may require a driver that you can download from their sites.

Please Note: The HDMI port on the Nitro 5 is an output port, meaning it can send video and audio signals to an external display, but it cannot receive signals from another device like the PS5.

Solutions: Verify that the USB-C port supports video output: Check your device's specifications or user manual to confirm that the USB-C port supports DP Alt Mode.

Ensure that your laptop's USB-C port supports video output by looking for a Thunderbolt symbol next to the port. If possible, try using a different HDMI-in to USB-C-out cable or adapter to rule out any issues with the current one. Next, visit the Acer support website, enter your laptop's model number, and download any available BIOS and driver updates, then install them. Additionally, check your display settings by going to Settings > System > Display and ensure they are configured correctly, manually detecting the connected display if necessary.

But this is false since my cable and the ones you linked are the same, they support the same ThunderBolt versions and the same maximum capacity for the external monitor, that is 4K60fps. I would need a solution as to how I can make my screen work as it currently only works on the HDMI port and not the USB-C port.
