I use my Chromebook to run Shotcut, a video editor. My 8GB RAM seem to handle 4K video well enough.

I've seen some little things online about using an eGPU or dGPU through the USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port.

Does anyone know of a Chromebook-compatible GPU? Since I can't purchase a 32GB Chromebook, I'd like to see if there are options out there.

I don't think there are ChromeOS compatible eGPU setups, they pretty much all require loading drivers, so won't work on a Chromebook.

There is a rather useless article that says there are eGPUs available that are Chromebook compatible, but I think it boils down to I will have to buy a Chromebook with 16GB RAM next time.

I was hoping maybe there was a quick and dirty way to run Shotcut on Linux faster. I have a good result using my 8 GB Chromebook.

Yeah, looks AI written to me… They mentions TBT3 or USB-C, but they don't mention that the USB-C needs to support 20Gb or 40Gb, not 10Gb like yours does.
