I'm having a weird issue with my Nitro 5 and hoping someone here might have some insight.

  • My battery charges normally and reports 100% when fully charged.
  • However, sometimes when I unplug the laptop from the charger, it immediately shuts down. No warning, just poof!
  • After this happens, the laptop won't turn back on at all.
  • The only way I've found to get it working again is to open up the laptop, disconnect the battery, and then reconnect it. After that, it boots up fine for a while

Your Nitro laptop might have a faulty EC or a main power rail that all need to be analysed.

Do a hard reset first by taking the battery out and the bios battery, then short the bios battery mobo plug +&- pins to reset CMOS and take the ram out. Leave the laptop like that for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight and then reconnect all components and with the ram only connect 1x ram module and alternate to see if it not the ram. This should fix the EC or Chipset freezing problems or the laptop turning off that cause these sort of a faults.

See if this fixes the issues, if not then you need to take your laptop to a technician so that they can analyse your laptops main power rail faults. Good luck.
