I would like to change my HDD to a M.2 2280 SSD 1TB: PCIe 4.0 NVMe. Can I just clone the current drive to the M.2 and will the new M.2 be recognised by the BIOS when switched back on.

I'm not really understand the 1st and the 2nd questions. The picutre that you sent is the M.2 SSD slot. The motherboard can accept the M.2 SATA SSD only.

This model supports M.2 SATA SSD only. Installing an NVMe SSD will not be recognized.

For cloning the OS from the old HDD to the SSD, you can use a software to fully clone the OS to new SSD.

Hi @AnhEZ28 thanks for the info, I have a couple of extra questions if you don't mind.

    1. Are all motherboard slots the same.
    2. There is an extra slot on the SATA M.2 drive, what happens if there is no corresponding part on the motherboard.
    3. I have attached an image of the motherboard docking point.
