I have an Acer Chromebook spin 513 connected to two external displays but the Chromebook only recognizes one screen and is showing the same images on both external screens rather than allowing me to have different things on different screens

    The CP513-1H model doesn't have a TBT port, it has two USB-C ports with both supporting DP alt mode. A lot of the docks with two HDMI out ports require a driver to use both, and those drivers aren't for Chromebooks. Here is the spec on those two ports:

    and:

    Without TBT support they likely only allow one display for each port…

    @Nimimi

    It sounds like your Acer Chromebook Spin 513 is currently mirroring the display instead of extending it.

    What is the full model no of your Chromebook?

    Flip your Chromebook over and look for a label or sticker on the bottom. The model number is usually printed there, often near the serial number. Or, Open your Chromebook and go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Detailed build information. Here, you should find the model number listed.

    I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

    Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like CP513-xxx-xxxx. Are you using two USB-C to video adapters, one on each port?

    Hi Billsey,
    Thank you for getting back to me. My full model number is CP513-1H-S60F
    I am using one docking station/adapter that has two HDMI ports (as well as other connections); I have tried a different adapter that has only HDMI ports and that didn't work either. The two adapters I used have worked (I.e. I can have different content on all three screens) when I switch laptops to another chrombook as well as a Windows laptop.

    Your Chromebook CP513-1H laptop has a TBT4 port and you can use the Daisy Chain method see here https://www.technewstoday.com/how-to-daisy-chain-monitors/

    To connect 2x monitor for either a continual image on both monitors or separte images on both monitors. As the HDMI 2x port hub connection will give you the same image on both monitors. Good luck.

    If this answers you question please mark my answer as "yes" and favourable, thank you!

    Thank you @billsey @StevenGen and @Sharanji for the responses and @billsey your response helped me understand fully my predicament that the particular model only supports extension to one display.
