Faulty Joystick and Menu buttons stopped working on ACER PREDATOR XB273K SBMIPRZX 27"

My joystick and menu buttons were working fine for months, but randomly stopped working. The joystick doesn't work at all and the menu buttons are mixed up (do not correlate to the correct input). I have seen MULTIPLE instances of this happening to other people and have yet to see a solution. I have updated my driver, unplugged the monitor, unplugged all inputs, and used different power cords. Customer support directly from ACER simply doesn't exist for their products so I was posting this to see if anyone had any experiences like me and how they managed to fix it.

There are a bunch of different XB273K models, there should be more letters following the "K" unless yours is from 2018, when they were first introduced. I haven't noticed anyone here with that issue, but it sounds like the board that sits behind the buttons has come loose.

There are letters following the “K” as stated in my post. The letters are “SBMIPRZX”. I have seen multiple users with the same issue but have not seen any answers to those either. I have confirmed that the board behind the buttons is indeed not loose and is clean.

OK, for the S models here are pictures of the keys:

It looks like, from those pictures, the circuit board portion, that has the actual switches, snaps in place on the plastic portion, and then they screw to the back cover with the five screws. It sure sounds as if yours has come loose…
