I have a really old Aspire 57332-4851 I've read about a pin hole to do a battery reset but I do not see one anywhere. I have a brand-new battery and the blue and orange lights are blinking while it's plugged in. Does anyone know what's wrong or what I should do? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure you bought the correct battery for this 2012 legacy laptop, and it is Acer Aspire 5733Z-4851 not 57332: Battery for Acer Aspire 5733Z 5733Z-4445 5733Z-4491 5733Z-4845 5733Z-4851 6Cell | eBay

Other things to check is your power adapter plug, does it still fit properly in the DC socket; do you hear a click when you fully insert the plug and if you wiggle the plug a bit while the laptop is turned on do the laptop LED indicators react?

If you checked this and are sure you have the correct battery model and the adapter is still in good shape, there may be hardware issues with the power rail, MOSFETs or motherboard. Consider getting a new Windows11 laptop, there are 2024 starter laptops already for $300 up.

Check Power Supply and Battery: Ensure the power supply and charger are working correctly. If possible, try using a different charger. Since the orange light may indicate a battery issue, ensure the battery is properly seated or, if possible, test with another compatible battery.

Both power and charging lights mean that the charger is faulty. Try a different charger.
