Hi there, i have a A315-59G equipped with MT7663 wi-fi card. It's 4 months old. Whenever i download something, or even test the net speed, laptop slows down, cursor starts to jump, cpu usage increases. But when connected via ethernet, laptop works smoothly. I saw that i'm not the only one having this problem.

I flashed latest bios 1.30, reinstalled Win11, updated all drivers (win11 updates almost all of them) but got no solution.

Do you have any suggestion? Should i go for warranty?

@Puraw , @Axxo , @AnhEZ28 thanks for your attention and responds. I got the solution, it's the useless Mediatek MT7663 that Acer chose to install. I've changed it with an Intel AX200NGW and now the laptop slides like a butter, full silence at fan and cpu.

Thanks Acer, i hate you, you owe me 30 bucks.

Hi, this model is 3 years old, did you perhaps buy a refurbished unit? you can upgrade RAM to 16GB with 2x8GB SODIMMs, uninstall all bloatware and 3rd-party browsers cluttering up your system, open Task Manager-Processes and check how many apps are running at the background (should not be more than 80), disable syncing (OneDrive) and telemetry with CLOUD, getting a faster NVMe SSD boot drive instead of a Sata drive, lots of things you can do other than replacing a good Wi-Fi card. There may also be system corruption, consider restoring the system to an earlier date, you will loose some Windows updates but that will be automatically updated again when you reboot, type restore in Search and click on "Create a restore point" and on "System Restore" with a date.

Sir, thanks for your respond but you got me wrong. I already have 16gbs ram and it's brand new, not refurbished. After this problem appeared, i've updated the Bios and installed a fresh new Win11. From the beginning of the "welcome" screen, laptop started to go slow because Win11 started to download drivers and updates via Wi-Fi. There is no problem when using ethernet or an external wi-fi adapter. Earlier i owned a A315-42G and it was working flawless with the same settings, utilities and programs, even same wireless mouse.

I don't want to touch any hardware because it has a warranty. I'm searching for a solution that may not need to send it back. Thanks a lot.

This laptop comes with an Intel Core i5-1235U processor and was released in January 2022. Did you check the number of background processes in Task Manager? Check the warranty online it may have already expired. I agree that when Ethernet with a LAN cable works well the Wi-Fi network needs checking, not just the adapter but the router settings and location too.

Open windows Control Panel, open Power Options and next to your currently selected power plan, click Change plan setting. In the following window, click Change advanced power settings. In the next window, open up 'Wireless Adapter Settings' and then open up 'Power Saving Mode'. Next to On battery: click the current setting and a drop-down box will appear - select 'Maximum Performance'. Do the same for Plugged in. Then click Apply and Ok to save these settings. Hope it helps.

You can contact the local Acer or seller for the warranty, the Wi-Fi card might be faulty.

Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!
