I have brought acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 about 1.5 years ago recently i changed its thermal paste and do servicing of laptop in a place where i brought it. Now, it is working normal in battery mode temperature rise up to 55 degree Celsius and fan speed is also fine at 1800 to 2000 RPM but when i plug in charger the temperature rise up to 68 degree Celsius and some time to 75-77 degree Celsius and fan start to rotates around 3000 to 5000 RPM producing noisy sound which irritates all the time on normal uses and also there is only battery backup of 40 to 45 min on normal uses.

Please Help!!!

Note: when playing games like Froza Horizon and other heavy games on Auto Speed of fan and on Performance mode Max temperature rise up to 80 to 85 degree Celsius .

The Nitro 5 AN515-58 is designed for the below temps, if the laptop gets hotter with the adapter plugged in, have a technician look at the main power rail if its not faulty, as your temps not plugged into an adapter are normal for this laptop.

Make sure that the fans are set to Auto and Balanced settings in Nitro Sense and let the laptop adjust the fans rpm automatically, as that is the best setting, I speak from personal experience as I’ve used an AN515-56 Nitro 11Th Gen i7-11370Hcpu with an RTX3050 and 32 GB ram and a Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 SSD for 5 years and those are the settings that I have my Nitro at and it works perfectly with all gaming and it never overheats, btw I've also repasted and changed the vram paste to pads. Good luck

Temperatures the AN515-58 laptops cpu and gpu are set for

    • CPU - 92°C CPU Tcc 98°C CPU Prochot 100°C shutdown
    • GPU - VGA 87°C, GPS(TC) VGA 95°C, Shutdown

The laptop is heating up because most probably the its running on at its full speed with no power saving turned on when plugged. Its also charging the batteries which can also cause the laptop to heat up. Just make sure to check the vents of your laptop if there's hot air coming out.
It is quite normal for the laptop to heat up, since the internal electronic components may generate heat while the laptop runs, especially during power-intensive operations such as charging, updating, gaming, etc. If you have an air-conditioned room, preferably use the laptop in there. If the room is not air conditioned, make use of a ceiling or table fan along with a laptop cooling pad. Laptop cooling pads have fans in them which help flow cool air keeping your laptop cool all time.
