The Play Store on my new 311 Chromebook will not accept the Xfinity Connect app so I can access emails. Is there a work around?

The Xfinity Connect app was retired on April 20, 2021. There should be a new app that replaces it though.

By doing a factory reset/power wash of the Chromebook might be able to fix the problem.

Also try closing all windows on the google chrome then update via chrome browser the firmware until no updates are available. then do a complete power down/restart (this is not the lock or pressing power button restart), you can google how to do that on your device.
