Acer Nitro Performance drops, FPS reduced by 60-70 after recent gaming session

Hello guys about a month ago i bought Acer Nitro 5 and everything was going smoothly until yesterday gaming session when i turned on my usual games (battlefield 2042, csgo, apex legends) and the performance is about 60-70 fps lower. I reinstalled drivers, restarted computer, checked if anything is taking too much ram or power, updated windows and newest drivers and so on… nothing is really helping other than putting it in performance mode which is extremely loud and still its not as powerful as before in my Default mode. Its month old and i really dont know what to do anymore… it started lagging 04.02/2025. Id appreciate any tips or tricks which can help me get it back on track

Make sure that you have the latest bios and all firmware installed for your Nitro model whatever model it is (you need to tell us the exact model?) as that has a bearing on performance. Male sure that you have the last NVidia game ready driver installed for the RTXxxxx gpu and play your games through the GeForce Experience software as Battlefield™ 2042 game is fully supported for the NVidia ultimate settings through this software. Try all that as your Nitro laptop should work like before as laptops don't just drop fps for nothing, lest us know how you make out. Good luck.

Generally it happens due to thermal throttling. Check what is your CPU temperature during gaming. There are multiple option available to check that. MSI afterburner is one. Generally on AMD chipsets thermal throttling happens at around 100 degree. Try to run your computer in a cool place and check if there is proper airflow available at the bottom of the laptop

Find your monitor's refresh rate.
Find out your current fps.
Enable Game Mode in Windows 10.
Make sure you have the latest video driver installed.
Optimize your game settings.
Reduce your screen resolution.
Upgrade your graphics card and RAM.

Hi, I have the 4060, Intel I9 version and all seems to be cool and okay. I updated everything i knew about and i check everything through NitroSense and Nvidia app temperature wise

Hi, sorry i forgot to mention i have the 4060 version with intel I9. I updated every driver i could remember apart from bios which i am really confused about since i have never done that before. I might have to look bit further into that. I tried csgo after all driver updates and its still not even 200 fps… as for battlefield its running 60 fps on low
