SFG14-73 Acer Swift Go 14 Ultra 5H Overheating and Fan Noise Issues, does this affect the display?

I just bought the Acer Swift Go 14 Ultra 5H (Swift SFG14-73 model). Its temperature rises above 60°C even when doing nothing while plugged in, and over 50°C when unplugged, also while doing nothing. The fan makes noise all the time, and because of this, the screen becomes hot. Does this affect the display? I have tried updating the BIOS to version 1.14, and even in silent fan mode, the temperature is still extreme.

What should I do?

Also, are Acer laptops manufactured in China? The laptop I’m using was manufactured in China, and I’m wondering if I received a refurbished product..

Make sure that you first have all the Win-11 24H2 and its last OS build 26100.3037 installed as this will make sure that you have the appropriate and correct Intel® Arc(TM) Graphics driver for this laptop installed.

If your laptop came in an unsealed box then its new and its made in China, that is if you bought your laptop from a known genuine Acer retailer also! .The vents of the Swift laptops that are situated at the top of the case and extracting heat onto the screen does not affect the laptops screen functionality, all new model Swift laptops are designed that way, but your Swift should not have its fans on all the time and/or should NOT overheat, as the Swift has adequate fans to cool its cpu with its integrated Intel® Arc(TM) Graphics. I'm using an SFX14-51G model Swift with an RTX3050 and my Swift does not overheat like yours and/or has its fans on all the time.

If this problem persists send you laptop to Acer tech support and get them to fix this heating problem as you could have a faulty mainboard. Good luck.

But, be aware that the Ultra chips run quite a bit hotter than previous generations. 60C with nothing much going on isn't too uncommon, though maybe 10C or so higher than we'd hope.

Hi, Nothing to be concerned about — these temperatures are within the normal operating range for the Swift SFG14‑73 with the latest Intel® Ultra platform.

In Windows Settings → System → Power & battery, select Balanced as the Power Plan and set Best Power Efficiency in battery usage mode.
If Silent Mode still doesn’t slow the fans, try disabling Processor performance boost mode.
