Which C24 model do you have? Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like C24-xxx-xxxx. Which OS are you running on it? When the issue shows up, open a command prompt and do a "ipconfig /all" on it and capture the results. That will often point to where the issue lies.

OK, here's a section of the block diagram for your C24-1700:

So, depending on whether you have the Intel or Realtek chip, the Ethernet sits on a single PCIe channel and should handle wire speed at 1Gbps. The WiFi is 802.11ax which is also on a single PCIe channel. There's nothing I see in the hardware that would inherently give you poor performance. Since you say you are hard wired we can assume you are doing your networking through the Ethernet port. With it dropping out I'd suspect the cable itself. Do you have another you can try?

Thanks for replies billsey and Axxo, its working OK today at the moment. I've an Intel chip, I'll change the ethernet cable if it comes back, the cable I'm using is pretty new but I guess that doesn't mean much.

Axxo I'll go through those checks if the above doesnt work when it returns - thanks for advice

Yes, most of those suggestions are WiFi specific so won't really apply to your wired connection… If it's not traceable to the cable, open a command prompt and do an "ipconfig /all" and capture the results for us, That will often point us to a configuration error.
