I have tried going through BIOS and have enabled f12 although no boot option available in manager.
what on earth is going on with it?!

Background: Prior to the message, it froze whilst on YouTube. Closed the laptop and opened to see if it was just having a moment and nothing so I held power down to force shut down. restarted to “no bootable device”.

Left it unplugged from charger (was on low battery prior to dying) come back to it and it started up but again keys or pad wouldn’t work to get password up. Shut it down and it went straight back to the ‘no bootable’. went into BIOS enabled f12 to bring up boot manager as mentioned. Nothing coming up. Keys working fine.

How do I save it? Thank you!

These symptoms could be that your laptop either has a faulty boot drive or a frozen EC chip that need to be reset and you need do a Hard Reset. Open your Aspire 5 (whatever model it is?) then take the back cover off, take the main battery out and the ram out, go to the RTC/BIOS battery and disconnect its plug and short this plugs +&- pins with a metal screwdriver to reset CMOS, leave the laptop like that for 15min then reconnect everything, but with the ram, if you have 2x ram modules only connect one to see if you don’t have a faulty ram module. This reset should make your laptop reboot and recognize the boot drive, otherwise you have a faulty boot drive, so check that out and the laptops main power rail that needs a technician to fix. Good luck and hope this helps you out to diagnose the problem.
