Description of the problem and the actions taken:
After reinstalling the Windows operating system on my laptop, I encountered a problem related to the functionality of the built-in keyboard. When I press a key combination such as Win+D, instead of performing its intended function , the keyboard activates multiple other commands at the same time, such as opening settings or executing Win+F, WIN+G and others .

I have tried various methods to solve the problem:

I reinstalled the keyboard drivers via Device Manager.
I turned off Sticky Keys and other accessibility menu features.
I performed checks and fixes with system commands such as SFC /scannow and DISM.
I updated Windows to the latest version (24H2) and installed all available updates.
I tested the laptop in Safe Mode and performed a clean system boot.
I even checked and changed the keyboard related settings in BIOS but without success.
Despite all these efforts, the problem persists, which leads me to believe that the cause may be related to either a deeper software problem or a hardware malfunction.

Hi @User_8897 try using a USB keyboard to see if the problem is reproduced.
You can also try using the virtual keyboard:

Use the On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) to type - Microsoft Support

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem. I have tried:

Connecting an external USB keyboard - both the built-in keyboard and the USB keyboard do not work properly when using Windows commands with numbers and letters.
Using the virtual keyboard (on-screen keyboard) works fine, but it does not change the behaviour of the built-in keyboard.

I will ask the moderators to move this thread to the Swift section instead of Switch, they are very different models. Since your issue is duplicated with an external keyboard, we can assume the issue isn't with the keyboard hardware. First question, why were you reinstalling the OS? Unless you were using the Acer specific reset procedure that would remove all the Acer tweaks and drivers. Is your system set for Windows S mode, or the normal Home version? Do the artifacts you are seeing happen with key combinations other than ones associated with the Win key?

Testing a USB or virtual keyboard is not intended to troubleshoot the problem, it is intended to determine if the problem is physical with the keyboard itself or is a configuration issue.
If the USB or virtual keyboard does not work, you may have an inappropriate language setting,

Thanks for the quick replies! Here is some additional information about the situation:

    • The main reason for reinstalling was this exact keyboard issue, as well as system stability issues.
    • I used the clean data and download and reinstall Windows option from settings. I did not use the Acer specific restore process.
    • I'm using Windows 11 Pro not in S mode, it says so in the Microsoft Store.
    • The problem also occurs with an external USB keyboard - the commands associated with Win Key + letter/number, do not function properly. Which probably means it's not a hardware problem.
    • I made sure the language settings are correct . The problem doesn't seem to be related to that.
