Acer Nitro 16 won't turn on. What could be the reason?

Hello, last night I left my laptop on my desk with the screen closed, not plugged in, and with a low battery. This morning, I found it wouldn’t turn on. When I press the power button, the keyboard lights up, but the fans stop within 2-3 seconds. I tried discharging static electricity and reconnecting the battery, but nothing changed. Acer's technical support suggested that the issue might have occurred due to the laptop shutting down during a BIOS update and asked me to send it to them, but I don't think an automatic BIOS update happened. I’m worried it might be hardware-related. What could be the reason?

Hi, depending on the power settings, Windows will revert sleep mode to hibernate status after a certain time and the low charged battery got depleted. You may not be able to charge the battery anymore as the Smart chip inside the battery disabled it. Repairing a battery/Smart chip is not recommended, consider replacing the battery. If you were connected to the internet with the Wake on LAN option in BIOS enabled Widows may have tried to install an update and as you did not have the power adapter plugged in (never disconnect the power adapter when the laptop is suspended or used) it may have corrupted BIOS, in which case you should take/send the laptop to Acer Services in your country.

Thank you for your response. I sent the laptop to the official service center, and they claimed there was liquid damage.There was not even a suspicion of liquid damage on the device. Without even checking the motherboard, they requested a part replacement and quoted me 52,000 TL ($1,400). The price of a brand-new Nitro 16 AN16-41 is currently 41,999 TL ($1,170). This is absurd.

Acer Global provided no assistance whatsoever. The service receipt doesn't even mention a motherboard failure. Additionally, after the product came back from the service, there was a transparent, odorless liquid in the area they claimed was damaged. The next day, it had dried. If this liquid damage was caused by me, how could it have dried after the service? It’s an unbelievable situation.

The second SSD socket mounting screw on the motherboard was also covered in this liquid, whereas the second SSD I had removed before sending it for service was perfectly clean.

Acer Global has done nothing about any of this. They wasted my time for days and never even called me once. I will never buy Acer again.

If you pay attention, you can see that they claim the liquid jumped from the part with the USB ports on the right to the motherboard on the left without dripping down.

Very sorry to hear that, the price for a new board is correct, it will be difficult to find a used board, but you can try e-Bay. IMO there is nothing you can do about this local Acer Services verdict as it is 100% their prerogative to accept or decline a "Repair under warranty" claim, Acer HQ has no authority over that, You can go to a reputable PC workshop for a second opinion but that usually ends in more misery with a patched unit and/or replacing an incompatible old board. Consider auctioning off the laptop at e-Bay and buy a new one 😑

If your laptop won't turn on even when plugged in, the issue could be with the power adapter, the laptop's power jack, or internal components. Try a different power adapter if possible. If that doesn't work, the problem may require professional diagnosis.

I took my computer to an unofficial repair service for inspection yesterday. They didn't detect any liquid on the motherboard. They said that the reason my processor is burned couldn't be user-related.Unlike the $1500 repair fee from Acer's official service, they only asked for $250.

Hello guys. I have some updates.

My court application was concluded today after the forensic inspection conducted at the courthouse, and it was decided that I was right. No liquid contact was found on the computer. The court has sentenced the company to provide a brand new computer. If I can get the money instead of the new computer, I will take the money and choose another company. I’ve never had such a bad post-sale experience in my life. Not a single person has called me yet. It’s beyond disgraceful
