Well, here I go again with another extremely dumb question…….
Got a Nitro N50-600 many years ago. It came with a Windows 10 Home license, but at the time I was a subscriber to the Microsoft Action Pack, which gave me 10 licenses for Windows (among other things), so as soon as I got the PC home I wiped it and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 using the license key I had been provided as part of my Microsoft subscription.
Microsoft has just stopped offering the Action Pack subscription, and none of the substitute programs they have put in place give you 10 Windows licenses. I have been in contact with Microsoft support, and they have confirmed that the serial numbers I have been using for years are now not valid - my Windows still works, but technically I now have an illegal copy of Windows on my PC (and on about 6 other computers at my home.)
Anyway, I never took much notice of the Windows license key that came with my Nitro N50, thinking that I would always have access to my Action Pack keys, but now I guess I should apply the original Acer Windows key to my PC so that I am no longer illegal……..only problem is I have no idea where that key might be. It doesn't appear to be printed anywhere on my PC case, and I no longer have any of the discs or documentation that came with my PC.
So, my question is - is there any way I can retrieve the original Windows key that was on my PC when I bought it?
