Hi

I've been searching for ways to fix an issue with my laptop for weeks and I cannot find any answer anywhere, so I will try here since it appears to be an active community.

My built-in microphone and webcam are not working, and I have no idea why. I tried all troubleshootings possible, I had a Microsoft assistant remotely accessing my computer to do the same troubleshoot and try to find fix it and it, and nothing works.

So it appears to be a quite serious issue that involves Acer.
He was not able to find the proper drivers for the camera and the microphone on Acer's website, so … how to solve it?

I even tried to "Add legacy hardware" but when I find camera it does not show a manufacturer that I could try and look for updated drivers.

The camera should at least appear in the device manager but it just disappeared, and the microphone appears to be there, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone know where I could find these drivers or what to do? please

Hi, the webcam and microphone are integrated devices, controlled by Microsoft, all you can do is uninstall whatever is listed in Cameras and Audio inputs and outputs in Device Manager and just reboot. When no results restore your system to before you lost the webcam and microphone, type System restore and click on "Create a restore point" (see below) or "Reset this PC" without losing you files but you will have to reinstall your non-Windows programs again, not with System Restore only updates made in that period will be lost,

I had tried that as well and it didn't work because the restore didn't change the devices in the system, the camera and microphone are still not listed in the device manager

Try an earlier restore point, it restores the Windows registry and that is where devices are stored or do the "Reset this PC" method but that will remove the 3rd-party programs.
