What is your Aspire 5 Slim exact model number, as just saying "Aspire 5 Slim" means nothing, be more specific! But the answer to your question is YES, first buy an external M.2 to USB-C cable case , inset the new 2TB M.2 drive into that case and go to Device Manager > Disk drives > and see which manufacturer M.2 SSD boot drive you have, and use that manufacturer cloning software.

Just as an example, if your M.2 SSD boot drive is manufactured by Western Digital go to the WD site and download their cloning software called Acronis for WD, as every M.2 SSD manufacturer has their own specific cloning software that they recommend to do the cloning system with.

After you have established the cloning software and its installed on your laptop, connect the M.2 to USB-C external case to the USB-C port and start the cloning system of your C:\ boot drive, then when its finished, you need to open the back cover of the laptop and take the old M.2 boot drive out and install the new 2TB drive and all the files and folders and OS will be on the new 2TB drive.

Be aware that this cloning system will take some time as even with using the quick USB-C port the transfer speed of 10Gbps could take up to 30min. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Hi, you have only a single M.2 SSD slot in your model, however, you can upgrade the SSD to a capacity up to a 2TB type PCIe 4x4 M.2 SSD like the Gen4 NVMe Samsung 990 Evo Plus.

Below is the Acer listed storage specs for your Aspire A515-58M and what Puraw is suggesting the Samsung 2TB 990 Pro NVMe drive or the 2TB 990 EVO Plus drive are both some of the very best and most reliable M.2 drives that you can upgrade the boot M.2 drive to, these drives are really quick Gen 4 x4 lane drives. I'm using the 990 Pro NVMe with Heatsink (that will not fit into your A515-58M laptop) and its a really quick and excellent drive, but the 990 Pro NVMe without a heatsink will fit, the 2TB 990 Pro is not cheap but the 2TB 990 EVO Plus is more affordable and is a more suitable drive for your laptop, just my suggestion and opinion. Good luck.
