Aspire TC 1785 DDR5 RAM upgrade. Is 64GB is possible or is there a recommend brand?

I have seen mixed responses on whether or not the TC 1785 can use 2x32GB DDR5 RAM so I just bought a 2x32GB pair and unfortunately the PC will just beep continuously when installed Is this because of this particular DDRV5 type or is 64GB not possible? If 64GB is possible is there a recommend brand?

Your Aspire TC-1785 desktop has an Intel H610 chipset mainboard and it is an Intel Socket Type LGA1700 14th Gen cpu that has a max ram speed of DDR5-5600MT/s, so its impossible that your desktop doesn't run the DDR5 ram. You have bought the wrong CL ram ram and I suggest that you change it for the below spec ram.

Also it could be that you haven't update the bios to the last version 1.05 where Acer also updated the 14th Gen cpu microcode to version 0x12B that fixes all the Intel cpu problems for this cpu overheating and voltages, so do that first and also see if you have inserted the ram properly into the 2x DIMM slots as that could also be problem why the ram is not registering and you are getting the beeping, so check all that first. As I've just update a laptop the PHN16-71 that took twice for the ram to be inserted before the system and laptop bios recognized the new 64GB DDr5 ram, so you have to be patient with these upgrades.

Be aware that the Aspire TC-1785 desktop is specified to run on DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 type @ 2x 32GB ram max capacity modules for a max capacity of workable 64GB into its 2x 288-pin DIMM slots. It can run bigger capacity as the 14th Gen cpu can run at max 128GB DDR5-5600MT/s ram but I can't guarantee that Acer's mobo and the bios is programmed to have provisions for that much ram, so if you decide to upgrade beyond 64GB you do so at your own risk.

Have a look at the suggested Crucial Acer Aspire TC-1785 RAM & SSD Upgrades and I suggest that if you want to run the max 64GB ram you buy the below ram kit that Crucial sells for this desktop, and don't buy the Crucial Pro Overclocking DDR5-6000MT/s type ram or the Crucial Pro DDR5-6400MT/s ram as this ram will not work at 600MT/s or 6400MT/s speeds. Good luck and hope this helps you out

It is the RAM controller that supports up to 16GB DDR5-5600MT/s per slot. not 32GB UDIMMs.

These 8GB and 16GB UDIMMs were tested by Acer in this laptop:

Thanks for the replies, and as readers can see there is definitely mixed information on the use of 64GB

@StevenGen yes I am using BIOS 1.05 and this was one of the deciding factors on upgrading DDRAM. It also fixed a long outstanding problem where one of my monitors would not wake from sleep using USB. I have ordered the CT2K32G56C46U5 and I will provide an update later this week. As for patience I have read on on forums that the timing detection itself can take a long period of time so I might let it beep longer and maybe remove the CMOS battery to see if that helps.

The service guide for the TC-1785 models is fairly clear at least… (BTW, don't forget the dash, TC-1785, not TC 1785, because all searches on Acer's sites will fail without it.) Here is what they say in the SG:

But in the FRU list, they only show 8GB and 16GB modules, since they didn't ship any units with 32GB modules installed.

I just installed the Crucial CP32G56C46U5 64GB DDR5 and it just worked immediately. CPU-Z reporting exactly the same timing as the stock 16GB CL40 @2394 so thanks a lot for the recommendation.

It will take a while to tell if it is as stable.

For future reference it was the Corsair Vengeance CMK64GX5M2B5600C40 which did not work although they are have the same spec (2x32GB) DDR5 DRAM 5600MT/s CL40

Glad to help you out emveepee as that the 64GB kit works in your desktop, as I've been using a 64GB Crucial kit (2x 32GB) in my PHN16-71 laptop at DDR5-4800MT/s CL40 and it works perfectly and very speedily and hasn't missed a beat in 3 weeks so far and i use this laptop every day for at least 8 hours a day. good luck and happy computing👍

    This was an informative post.

    So I just ordered a Crucial CT16G56C46U5 16 GB 5600 CL46.
The one installed in my 1785 was a 16 GB Kingston 5600 CL46.

Bios is 1.05 so I expect it to work just fine.

I wouldn't be confident installing un paired RAM on any PC, ***** luck and make sure you can return your order.
