My laptop (Aspire 3 15) is plugged in yet it stays at 0%. I tried updating the BIOS last night and it charged till 100%, but as soon as I unplugged it, it shuts down and went 0% again. And until now it is still at 0%. I also looked up its battery health report and it says 100%, but it still shuts down.

I also tried internal battery reset, didn't work. I don't know what to do anymore, I need this for my school and work. I don't have many to get it fixed since they don't want to accept it for warranty.

Hi, run a battery report: Paste this in the command prompt: powercfg /batteryreport and open the report with your Edge browser, right click and select "Print to Microsoft PDF", attach the report to your reply, type @Puraw or use "Quote" when you reply so I will get an alert.

The battery is not being charged, and it lost half its capacity last December, if you have not done that download this new BIOS version 1.19, just click on the link: https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_1.19_A_A.zip?acerid=638665565695228149&Step1=&Step2=&Step3=ASPIRE%20A315-24PT&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6 and uninstall these two battery drivers (picture) in Device Manager, just reboot and try to charge to 100%.

Try resetting the battery: disable fast startup in power options, turn off the computer, unplug the power adapter, press the power button for thirty seconds and leave the computer off for half an hour.

Also Doing the power drain and bios defaults will really help. Kindly follow the steps given below:

Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices or any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down. On the bottom of the laptop, you can find a pin hole. It is a tiny hole. You can a find a battery symbol indicator next to the hole. It is like a + and – sign symbol as though somebody is trying to shift the battery out. Insert the pin on to the hole for 30 seconds. Remove the pin. Flip the laptop. Connect the charger cable, turn on the computer. Only on laptops where the battery is inbuilt you can find the battery reset hole on the back of laptop.

If you don’t find a pin hole on the back of laptop then you might be using removable battery. There is no need to unscrew anything to remove the battery. Turn off the laptop. Disconnect or unplug the charger cable, devices and any other cables connected to your laptop. Close your laptop. Turn it upside down. On the bottom of the laptop, please look at the top or bottom depending on the way you look at it. You can find a long door. It is a battery removable door. Just below that you can find a latch. If you move the latch you can remove the battery door. Once the battery is removed, flip the laptop. Open the top cover, press and hold the power button for 1 minute. Connect the battery back on the back of computer. Connect the charger cable back and then turn on the computer.

If you don’t see a reset pin hole on the back of laptop or if you are not able to remove the battery (if it is inbuilt) then please unplug all the cables and devices out of laptop.  Hold the power button for 1 minute. After releasing the button you should wait a while before plugging in power. Just because the button has been pressed doesn’t bleed off all the residual electricity on the motherboard. Wait 15-30 minutes before plugging in power. Then once power is connected wait for a full battery indication before turning the system on. That allows the battery to fully reset it’s internal statistics.

Connect all the cables back and restart the computer.

While turning on the computer, tap f2. It will go to bios. Press f9 once. It will show load bios defaults with a yes or no popup. Press enter. Popup screen will disappear. Press f10 once. It will show save changes popup with yes or no. Press enter. Computer will restart and it will load into windows.

It might also be the issue with battery, charger or power outlet.  Try to use the charger in a different room on a different power outlet. Try to bypass the surge protector and connect it directly to power outlet.  Try to use an alternative charger if possible.  Try to turn on the computer without the charger and check it ( as long as the battery is not drained out)

    Try windows x

    go to device manager

    expand Battery

right click on all the items below battery – uninstall

Restart the computer. It should work fine.

In Windows open Device Manager and right click on each device (see red box, picture) select Uninstall device and just reboot.

I downloaded the link and this is what happened, and I chose run anyway. Something pops up from Insyde(?) and they want me to put current and new ID and Version, and then disappears. Am I doing it right?

Hi, this AMD laptop is barely 1 year old and still has 1 year warranty left, battery and adapter warranty just expired. There is a hardware issue with the power rail, and you need to take the laptop to Acer Services in your country to check that out or submit an Under-warranty Repair ticket online with Acer Support in your country and wait for instructions by e-mail.

How do I send an under-warranty repair ticket online? I apologize for the inconvenience, in completely clueless.

And in my country, they kept asking for a sticker at the bottom for the warranty, but as far as i can remember, my laptop didn't come with any that's why they dont want to accept it under warranty and is making me pay thousand of money.

Hi, there won't be any sticker problems, I live in the Philippines and Acer Services never declined my repair requests. Only if you caused damage to the charge port or inside the laptop, they may void the warranty, but I never heard of a case like that anywhere. Contact Acer Support: Contact Acer | Acer United States and click on Repair my Acer.

As it turns out, my laptop is out of warranty so I would need to pay for the repair. And also, since my laptop was purchased in the US (it was a gift from my uncle). I am not sure about the proof of purchase and stuff like that.

All new Acer registered laptops are covered by 2-years warranty worldwide including travelers. yours is from December 2023 so good till December 2025 if you had it registered. even so, only major components like a motherboard, screen, broken hinges or a cracked case are expensive, my estimate for a new adapter or DC socket is $50 at the most. BTW, you can get a 100W USB-C charger to see if that works, maybe your power adapter is bad: 100W ADAPTER KIT WITH POWER CORD (USB-C CONNECTOR) | Acer Store – US available at Amazon.

How can I find out if its registered? If not, can I still register it or not?

    @Cheska_027

You can try to replace the battery. The full charge capacity is missing which means that the battery is dead.

Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

Does it say that in the battery report? Thank you so much. I don't think my laptop is registered that's why the warranty has ended, that's why I have to go the service center and they'll charge me lots.
