Hello as I mentioned above I have the po5-655 predator and the stock cooler is just not enough for some games while using game mode on predator sense. So I went out and bought the noctua nh-u9s and the nh-u12s .. I bought them both just in case .. I seen people use them in their cases but my main gripe is the back plate. I cannot pull that motherboard out there is no way I can do it with issues with my hands but I'm sure I can install one of those coolers . If anyone can tell me if I can use the original back plate it would be great because I seen one post where someone did change the back plate and now I'm buying my finger nails worried that I definitely need to change the back plate. I also have a EVGA AIO that I bought but couldn't install it because it need a USB power from the motherboard and this motherboard doesn't look like it would work. I could mount the AIO to the front and mount the heatsink to the motherboard using the screws I have .. again that is if I can use the original back plate. The only issue with the AIO is that USB power plug it needs for the display to work on it. I think everything else would work. I just need some guidance off the ledge if I should use the u9s or the u12s. I think the 12s .. I think the AIO would be too much but way more cooling .. maybe I'm wrong about that part. Ok thank you for taking the time and have a great day and hello everyone first time poster

The PO5-655 desktop has an LGA1700 socket cpu and you should follow the Noctua fitting guide from the Noctua NH-U9S for the specific LGA1700 socket which is clearly documented in its PDF guide.

See the PDF guide below and all the fitting steps I've highlighted for you for the socket LGA1700 cpu, you don't need to take the back plate out or even the mobo out, just take the oem cooler out and the ram and gpu to have room around the cpu to fit the Noctua NH-U9S cooler, and follow the guide as its easy, its the same for the bigger Noctua NH-U12S,

I would also apply the Thermal Grizzly liquid metal Conductonaut Extreme paste as the combination with the Noctua cooler with the optional 2nd fan of the NH-U9S cooler and the liquid metal paste will cool the PO5-655 desktop cpu down in any gaming situation considerably and will be a top upgrade for this desktop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

For your information and to assist you even more I've included the PO5-655 mobo

Follow the Noctua installation guide as I've highlighted for the LGA1700 cpu and you won't need to take the back plate out as Noctua supplies the exact and all the appropriate parts so that you can put their bracket and parts to attach their excellent NH-U9S or the NH-U12S cpu coolers to the cpu whichever you decide to install, but as I've said above, I suggest that you install the NH-U9S with ***** optional 2nd fan and use the TG ligiid metal paste, as this combination will cool the cpu in any gaming situation adequately and to more than you will ever stress the cpu temps to. Good luck.

The main thing was did I have to remove the motherboard at was the big question but by the sounds of it if I'm hearing it right is I should be able to use the stock Acer back bracket with the noctua parts and some screws that I need to make this work. Hopefully I read that right

Thank you so much, this answered so many of my questions. I just got the screws in the mail and I also found a way to hook the AIO I purchased a month ago up since it needed a 5 pin USB header. I can just buy or make a USB to 5 pin adapter and use my fans in the front as well as the brackets to hook it up. Though I think I'm just going to use the noctua nh u12s and put the extra fan on it if it will fit. I think it will be easier to maintain for me than the AIO. Even though the AIO has a nice digital display on the mount for the heatsink on the CPU. Anyway I got some thinking to do but I'm almost positive it's going to be the NH u12s for the win. Thank you so much again I cannot wait to see the difference in temps.

Hello I just wanted to to thank you again. I got the NH u12s in and I used a y adapter on the fan so instead of one fan it has two. Currently at high power and the fans set to auto the temps are fluctuating between 28 and 29 and not really going above .. when I had everything on high the temps were way lower like 23 to 24 ish. But everything seems good I'm just hoping I have it tight enough to the CPU I didn't wrench on it I stopped when I could feel the screws on the heatsink getting rough to turn and I wouldn't go any further. I should really invest in one of those fancy screw drivers that has the nm on it and set it to the 6nm they recommended I could be wrong about the rate though I think if I had it too tight I would have issues and if I didn't have it tight enough I would have heating issues I dunno it's been a long long time since I had to do this. Anyway thanks again for your help it truly did matter what you said and I was absolutely pointed in the right direction so thank you.

Can anyone help me understand the Slot #12? It's a 2230 Slot, however what is it used for? The computer stated that there are 2TB of Storage 1 ea. in #10 and #25, but the board has 3 slots to include #12. It doesn't show on Disk Management. Sorry if it's a dumb question, Only partially competent when it comes to computers. Is it a booster of some sort?

The 2230 slot is for a WLAN card and doesn't work for SSDs.
