Dear all,

I would like to upgrade my AN515-58-74JS with a 2nd M2 SSD.

M2 Slot 1 is using the original Samsung SSD. In addition I use an SATA 2,5 HDD.

M2 Slot 2 extension SSD (M2.SSD Sata 3 Intenso 1TB) is not recognized in BIOS. https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07VC3Y6RG?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title)

I did a try 1 year ago also with an curcial MX300 SATA SSD M2, where I had the same issue.

Does the AN515-58-74JS only support NVMe SSDs?

I did a swap from the original Samsung SSD to slot 2, which worked, so the slot 2 seams to be ok.

Within BIOS I could not find any option where to make adjustments to the HDD controller.

Thanks a lot!

The Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58-74JS has two M.2 PCIe 4x4 slots, both of which support PCIe NVMe Gen 4 x4 SSDs. M.2 Sata-3 SSDs are not supported. I recommend getting a Samsung 990Evo Plus up to 2TB that runs cooler than the 990PRO SSDs.
