Whats the full model number of your laptop :)? I think some of the Helios's are 60hz screens rather than 144hz

To revert your Acer Predator Helios 300 back to a 60Hz refresh rate, follow these steps:

    1. Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
    2. Scroll down and click on Advanced display settings.
    3. Click on Display adapter properties for your monitor.
    4. In the new window, go to the Monitor tab.
    5. Under Screen refresh rate, select 60Hz from the dropdown menu.
    6. Click Apply and then OK

You could try a battery reset, disconnect from mains, press Power button for 9 Secs, release the button and leave the laptop to rest for 10 Mins, press Power button to start normally and see whether it fixes the problem.
