No sound from ACER KB272 G0bi 27" monitor despite showing in Audio devices, what's the Issue?

Hello everyone! I hope this message finds you well.

I just bought a monitor ACER KB272 G0bi 27". In user guide it says: "Speakers: 2W x2 (optional)". So, I thought that maybe I don't have built-in speakers in that model and then I can connect speakers separately but there is no audio-out / audio-in jack on the monitor. This means the only possible way to get sound is to connect speakers to the source (laptop in my case) which is also ok. But why then this monitor shows up in my audio devices? I can also check the sound on it and it shows as sound is being checked and I can see the sound bar goes up and down during the check, but no sound appears. I couldn't find any specific answer to this problem on the Internet myself so I registered here to ask this. Maybe someone knows the answer.

PS: I downloaded all the audio drivers which were recommended by the system as well and still no progress.

There is no in-built speakers in the unit. If you connect any external speakers then you will get audio.

The KB272E model monitor has these specifications, and AUDIO is optional in the SKU 2 version ONLY. Therefore, your model likely does not have the optional audio speakers.

The K273, KB272, and KC272 are defined as new 27” models in the ACER KA2 series, which is an ACER project in Qisda. The K273, KB272, and KC272 are characterized as follows:

27” LCD Monitor supports 1920 (H) x 1080 (V) resolution with DPMS (Display Power Management System), FreeSync, OD, and VRB functions.
There are two input types: VGA and HDMI1.
The K273, KB272, and KC272 adopt 27" AUO M270HAN01.1 QA, 0E and Samsung LTM270HL06 M02 panels.
The KA, KB, and KC272 support ACM 1000M:1.
Audio function 2W*2 (optional).
The K273, KB272, and KC272 also offer DDC/CI function to meet VESA standards.

The audio input jack appears to be ignored if you are using the HDMI input. It seems to work fine with VGA (don't have any DP to test). I think that the monitor assumes that if you are using HDMI the audio signal would be included. That turns out to be a bad assumption in some cases like mine. I am using a video card with only VGA and DVI. I use a DVI to HDMI adapter which gets the video signal to the monitor just fine. However, DVI does not include audio so I usually send that with a separate cable. Unfortunately, the KB272 only selects its sound based on the input port and I have not found any control that overrides that. I would consider this a design defect.

According to Acer (https://store.acer.com/en-us/27-acer-kb2-essential-monitor-kb272-g0bi) your model doesn't have speakers. There should be an audio out jack on it that you can connect to external speakers to use HDMI output sound. The notes for the KB272E likely won't match those for a KB272G.

Unfortunately, it doesn't have a audio out jack for external speakers to be connected, but that's okay, just wanted to be sure about that option and that I received the correct model. Thank you all for the help.
