I have an Acer Aspire XC-1760 (XC-1760_E). The computer has space for a SD adaptor my is sealed with a plastic cap. The computer is from 2022. I can see the new models have SD adaptor integrated but not this one. Is it possible to remove the cap and insert a SD adaptor?

    Hi,

Yes, it's a dummy cover to stop dust entering, push the plastic cover in once and it will eject itself, then you can use any SD card in the slot or use any adapter to switch to different size cards.

The SD card reader is an option with these models, some SKUs include it, some do not. Here is the part numbers used:

Any of those three will work, they are essentially identical. Here is how to assemble it to the bracket:

You can use most any sort of foam as the sponge, it just helps hold it in place, while also grounding the case of the SD card slot itself. It's not clear just what sized screws those are, they look like they might be M3 to me, from the picture.
