Why can't my ACER ASPIRE E 15 E5 -551G -T1Z6 boot from caddy HDD?

HI everyone,

I have Acer laptop ACER ASPIRE E 15 E5 -551G -T1Z6 with spec below
AMD A10-7300 Radeon R6, 10 Compute Cores 4C+6G 1.90 GHz
SERIAL NUMBER : NXMLESI009XXXX,
SNID : XXX,

this laptop do not boot from caddy hdd, but it boots from cdrom,

if i connect cdrom it shows in BIOS, but if i connect caddy hdd it is not showing in bios… but i can access the contents form windows.

i want to boot from caddy hdd if any one help me with latest bios update which shows caddy hdd or any other trick so that i can boot from caddy hdd i will be greatfull.

    Hi, are you sure you want to boot from the HDD caddy connected to the Sata-1 interface? It will be very slow, Windows will run at a snail pace, I recommend that you use that caddy drive for storage and keep the 2.5" Sata-3 HDD/SSD as your boot drive with the Windows OS.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your input. I want to remove cd-rom and instead of cd-rom i want to connect ssd with the help of caddy. i have tried it with other laptops like another acer and other company laptops it works well just like booting from second Hdd in pc system.

    I want to do same in this model but unfortunately it is not recognizing caddy hdd.

    Because of that I need updated BIOS with caddy support.
