Just bought this monitor and i like the HDR, i had AOC Q27G3XMN which is also very pretty in HDR but it ran so hot that i wasn't able to enjoy it due to its radiant heat from the screen (132 degrees F).

This monitor is great, i bought it refurbished and works fine but the cooling fan noise is louder than my HP Omen 25L.

Is there a way to set the monitors cooling fan to lower speed to reduce its noise?

I've actually opened the monitor and looked at the fan and it's pathetic design. The reason why i hear it and so do millions of others is because of its design. It's not only tiny and whiny, its also not auto-regulated by temp. It's set to specific speed and that's it. It sounds like someone is running a house generator a block away from you..

Acer should of installed a spider heatsink instead of a whining fan, there is PLENTY of space inside this monitor for that heatsink. It's slowly getting to me as i'm writing this because the monitor is refurbished and it's clean inside but the fan noise is plainly annoying, especially if you're into writing and like the quiet around you.

Acer could of at least installed a blade fan instead of a laptop cpu cooling fan so the noise would NOT be heard. It's as if Acer engineers designed this monitor outdoors without testing is indoors.
I don't believe i will keep it, i will downgrade to 2k monitor without a fan instead.
