Hi everyone,
I’m having issues with my touchpad on my Acer Nitro AN517-5. It completely stopped working, and when I checked in the Device Manager, I noticed that the "I2C HID Device" showed the following error:
Device status: "This device cannot start. (Code 10). A request for the HID descriptor failed."

As a workaround, I went into the BIOS (pressed F2 during startup), and on the Main tab, I pressed Ctrl + S to unlock additional settings. I then switched the touchpad mode from I2C to PS/2. After doing this, the touchpad started working, but now it lacks features like two-finger scrolling and other gestures I’m used to.

Does anyone know how I can fix the I2C issue or restore the advanced touchpad features? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve tried reinstalling the drivers, but the problem hasn't been resolved. Which drivers are correct for my laptop, ELANTECH or Synaptics? Maybe I made a mess installing both types, as they didn't work.

Drivers are downloaded from:

Thanks in advance!
