HDMI 2.1 Ports

The Dell G3223Q gaming monitor has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports that support the Fixed Rate Link 3 (FRL3) rate.

  • Lane Rate = 6 Gbps
  • Bandwidth = 24 Gbps

FRL Rate / Total Bandwidth = Number of Lanes x Lane Rate.

FRL3 translates to:
4K @ 120Hz (4:2:0, 10-12 bit) which is sufficient to support the latest gaming consoles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S or X.
Or
4K @ 120Hz (4:4:4 or 4:2:2, 10-12 bit with DSC) which is sufficient to support computer video cards.

FRL3 is sufficient to support the current generation of gaming consoles, computer video cards, and there is no requirement to support FRL6 (Lane Rate: 12 Gbps and Bandwidth = 48 Gbps).
