Hi,

I use the ACER Swift Go 14" Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7, 1 TB SSD to deliver online lectures using MS Teams.

The screen goes black in the middle of the lecture and I have to perform a hard reset (pressing the Power button down for 10-20 seconds until it shuts down and turning it back on). The fan is quite loud. I am wondering if it's overheating, although it doesn't feel too hot.

I've only been using the laptop for 3 months.

It's always easiest to look your system up if you provide the actual model number… Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SFG14-xxx-xxxx. Are you sure it's not just going to sleep due to inactivity? Try setting it to wait longer before sleeping… The freeze could be an app running in the background (or even in the foreground :)) that doesn't handle sleep well.

    Hi Billsey,

Thanks for the tip - I'll check the settings.

In the meantime, the serial number is SFG14-41-R064.

Check that the UEFI firmware of your Swift Go SFG14-41 is updated to the latest available version (1.18):
