So i got an acer nitro v15 and about a week ago my water bottle splled inside my bag where i have my laptop in it, i turn it on and i got a white screen. So i turn it off and dried it out for about 6 hours and everything was normal for 2 days. After that my screen was broken, it can still turn on but theres some yellow lines on it and everytime i switch tabs the previous tab is still there even though im on my current tab and that happens everytime i used my AC in my house. So i dried it out again the screen turns back to normal but my laptop becomes laggy. I played FC 24 and it runs on 15 fps and i played db sparking zero its also runs on 20 fps, so basically there is a problem with my laptop performance. If anyone have any DIY idea please share.

I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country to check the motherboard.

Unfortunately you can’t do anything with a water spill when you have turned the laptop on and afterwards you have troubles with your laptop. You need to have the laptops mainboard inspected by a technician with a microscope to see what chips have been shorted and corroded and/or affected by the water spill.

Every water spill is different and affects different sections of the mainboard, but if your laptop wasn’t turned off and was in sleep mode when the spill happened, then the laptops chips would have been affected even more, as with a water spill you DO NOT turn the laptop on, you first dry and clean the water off first off the mainboard completely before turning the laptop on.

Best solution is to take your laptop to an experienced technician with a microscope and get them to clean and inspect the board and replace the affected chips, as you can’t fix and/or do anything yourself. Good luck hope things work out for you cheaply without having to replace the mainboard, as these mainboards on a V15 are very costly.
