My I think about 2 year old xv272u is randomly black screening. When I try to load into games on my Xbox the screen will turn black for about 5 seconds. Even just trying to load back into the game, when I open the party display it will be fine than when I turn back to the game I’m black screened for about 5 seconds. It does the same thing on my PC but not as often.

1.Try unplug all the wires that connects to the monitor including the power cable from the wall socket and press and hold the power button on the monitor for 40 seconds than connect and check.

2.Try updating the monitor drivers and check.

There can be several reasons why your monitor goes black for a few seconds randomly and then comes back. Here are some possible causes and solutions based on the search results:

Loose Cable Connections: One common cause is loose or damaged cable connections between your computer and the monitor. Check the cable connections and ensure they are securely plugged in.

Graphics Driver Issues: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can also lead to display problems. It is recommended to update your graphics driver to the latest version or reinstall it if necessary.

Poorly Configured Power Settings: Sometimes, poorly configured power settings can cause monitor issues. Make sure your power settings are properly configured, especially the "Turn Off The Display" setting, which should be set to never.

Software Incompatibility: Certain software, especially antivirus programs, can interfere with your monitor's display. Temporarily disabling conflicting software or running a clean boot of your system can help identify if any third-party applications are causing the issue.

Possible that your monitor or hardware is faulty. You can try swapping your monitor with a different one or testing your monitor on a different computer to determine if the issue persists. If the problem is with the monitor, you may need to contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement

If your Acer XV272U monitor is black screening randomly, First, check the cable connections to ensure that all cables connecting your monitor to the computer are securely plugged in. It's also a good idea to update your graphics drivers by visiting the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers. If possible, try using different cables to see if the issue persists. Running diagnostic tests using Acer's built-in tools can help identify any hardware issues.
