Hi

I have an Aspire TC895 desktop and I need to add another display output to the machine to run a 3rd monitor. I guess this will involve adding a graphics card to the machine and I would prefer to have at least 3 x HDMI ports on the card but I'm unsure what cards would be suitable.

I also believe that some cards would require an upgrade to the PSU to run them but all I need this card for is to run a PowerPoint slide show for customers at our trade counter.

Can someone please advise, it would be appreciated.

Many thanks

    Hi @Ogreman

You can put most any GPU in that runs off PCIe power only. If you have the 500W supply a GeForce RTX 3050 should work fine. It likely won't work with the 300W supply or lesser one, but it's only power that causes that. The earlier RTX designs can also work, as long as they don't need too much power. The same thing applies for AMD GPUs, as long as they don't exceed the power budget they should work.

The TC-895 models (that dash is important when searching on any Acer site, they won't recognize TC895 without the dash) come with a 180W, 300W or 500W power supply. Since yours seems to not already have a GPU card installed, it's likely got the 180W or the 300W power supply. The GPUs that originally shipped with those models were the GT 1030 and GTX 1650. The versions that had the GTX 1650 had 500W supplies, the ones with GT 1030 had the 300W supplies. We have to know just which supply shipped with yours before we can recommend a GPU card. You can typically find the power output listed on the sticker that is on the PSU. There is a little more complexity to it all though, and that is various versions of the TC-895 shipped with either ATX form factor or TFX form factor power supplies. They are different physical sizes, so it would be best if you could show us a picture of the back of your unit so we can see the mounting screws for the PSU.
