Good morning, helpers!
Recently, I bought two new RAM modules from Crucial, CT2K8G4DFRA32A (2x8GB RAM).
They are compatible, non-XMP, and have the exact same specifications as the original RAM that was already installed.
The issue is that when I installed the new RAM into slots 1 and 3, the computer lights up but makes a long, non-stop beeping noise.
When I try the new RAM in the existing slots that are already occupied by the original RAM (which are slots 2 and 4), it works fine. The issue only occurs in slots 1 and 3.
So, I can tell that it is definitely a slot issue, not a RAM issue. I've been researching this issue and found out that cleaning the slots with compressed air can help. I tried that, but it didn't work. I've read a similar article to this one, but that person worked it out by installing the RAM in a 16-8-16-8 formation.
Is it a motherboard issue or a RAM slot issue? To me, it seems more like a RAM slot issue.
Please help meeeeee :(
