Thanks Puraw. I tried this but it did not work. I should have mentioned that I have a new Acer C24 1300 with Windows 11. Problem is annoying as when I am viewing documents the screen dims after about 30 seconds and I have to move the mouse to brighten it again. Very frustrating!

    Windows Built-in Options:-
Disable Dynamic Lock: Dynamic Lock may be causing the screen to dim based on your movement. Navigate to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. Scroll down to Dynamic lock and uncheck "Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you're away."

What computer do you have? Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. If a desktop, the auto-dimming is likely don by the monitor, not the desktop. Look in the on screen display menus for any adaptive brightness settings. If a laptop then the brightness is likely being dimmed by the OS when running on battery. That can be changed in Windows, but the specific steps will be different for different systems and OSes. Since you are posting to a Windows 11 area we can likely assume you are running Windows 11. :) You probably have something like this:

It's an all in one PC. The sticker describes it as Aspire C24-1300 C24-1300_LubR37320U). A barcode has SNID: xxxxxxxxxxx. I've adjusted all the brightness settings and others advised but still doing the same.
