Hi,

Simple question.

Apart from the Snapdragon product and Chromebook line, does Acer still provide a fanless laptop in their current lineup.

I know about their older fanless laptops which are no longer featured on thie UK website - I'm talking about new models.

Thank You,

Thanks for the reply but I believe the last passive conventional laptops Acer produced were the Swift1 line with the Intel Pentium Silver N6000. I have the earlier N5000 version which is crippled because you cannot upgrade the SSD to an NVME one.

I was hoping that Acer would carry on producing low end passive cooled laptops (not chromebooks). Other than noname Chinese stuff there really are no new Windows fanless laptops being made - only much older models - if you can still find them!

Try finding a brand new Acer Swift 1 SF114-34 N6000 laptop with 8GB RAM !

Yes, the newer chipsets just aren't able to run without some active cooling, even at the low end. I believe that the manufacturers found with the earlier fanless designs that they tended to generate a lot more customer service calls than the active cooled versions. New chipsets do require less power than older ones, but even so they aren't designed for passive cooling.
