I use a 135w power adapter for acer N4640G with 3 jumper positions (65w, 90w,135w) all working, so do I need to change the jumper to the correct position according to the instructions? I upgraded the N4640G (i3- 6100T, HDD) to (i7-6700T, 1SSD, 1HDD, Vga R7 430) can use 65w adapter, do I need to upgrade to 135w adapter? Also N4640G with i5-6400 cpu (no T) works with 65w power adapter, is it safe? or need to use 90w or 135w power adapter?

The jumper might just be used to tell the BIOS which supply is connected. Set the jumper to the right position for your power supply to allow the BIOS to tell you the right info about it, but it's likely not needed electrically.

I think that the 3 settings are present if you have it connected to a laptop battery. Then you would set it for the battery wattage.

I would just use it in the MAX 135 position as it'll only draw the current that the computer demands. WATTAGE = AMPS x VOLTS

I'm not sure about all your upgrades.

No, those jumpers tell the BIOS what size of power supply you have connected, or at least what size you are supposed to have connected. The BIOS doesn't have any real way to measure power supply current, and the BIOS on this model reports the power supply size, so it has to get the info from something…

My Bad as I thought that the jumpers were on the adapter.
