    2. Locate and expand Human Interface Devices
    3. Right-click HID-compliant touch screen and select Update driver
    4. Select Search automatically for drivers
    5. Wait for the process to complete, once completed, restart your computer and check if it resolves your issue.

    Method 2: Roll-back driver

    1. Open run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc then hit enter
    2. Locate and expand Interface Devices
    3. Right-click HID-compliant touch screen and select Update driver
    4. Select Browse my computer for drivers
    5. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
    6. Select any older driver from the list and click next
    7. Wait for the process to complete, once completed, restart your computer and check if it resolves your issue.

I am having a very similar issue! I purchased my Acer Aspire 3 15 in August 2024, brand new, and recently I noticed that my touch screen feature is not longer working, and I do not know why. I attempted to use the device manager method, but the "HID-compliant touch screen" is not even a listed option, even though this device does have the touch-screen feature. What can I do to restore touch-screen???

If your Acer laptop's touchscreen isn't working, try updating or reinstalling the touchscreen driver in Device Manager, or check for Windows updates, which can resolve driver issues.
Here's a more detailed troubleshooting guide:-

    1. Check for Driver Issues:
      Open Device Manager:
Press Windows Key + X, then select "Device Manager".
      Locate Touchscreen Device:
Expand "Human Interface Devices" and look for "HID-compliant touch screen".
      Update Driver:
Right-click the device and select "Update driver".
      Choose "Search automatically for drivers".
If that doesn't work, choose "Browse my computer for drivers" and manually select the driver from the Acer website.
      Reinstall Driver:
If updating doesn't work, right-click the device and select "Uninstall device". Restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
    2. Check for Windows Updates:
Go to Windows Update: Click the Start menu, then select "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update".
Check for Updates: Click "Check for updates".
Install Updates: Install any available updates.
    3. Other Potential Solutions:
Check for Smudges or Dirt: Clean the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Restart your computer: A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
Check for Loose or Broken Cables: If you're comfortable with opening your laptop, check for any loose or broken cables connecting the touchscreen to the motherboard.
Safe Mode: Boot into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is software-related.
    4. Contact Acer Support:
If none of the above steps work, contact Acer support for further assistance.
