Question about fast startup with updates

if I have fast start off in control panel, can updates auto install without me pressing shut down and update or restart and update?

    Some updates touch system files that could be in use by OS and necessitate system reboot to apply them.

    Hi Jington, that is now your 3rd question about Fast Startup. Nothing to do with updating and you should leave both Hibernate and Fast Startup disabled as these 2 options interfere with Windows Power Plan. Don't turn off the laptop, don't reboot and keep the power adapter plugged in during Windows updates, Windows will reboot automatically and complete the updates. If you turn off the laptop or unplug the adapter you will brick the laptop.
