I just got a TC-1785 from Costco. It came with extra parts that I have no idea what they're for. 2-6" flat cables marked "Serial ATA" ? A 12" cable with a white 6 pin plug, red, yellow ,2 black wires reducing through a plug to 2 wire, red, black. There's also an optical door with open button (there is no optical in the computer). A silver metal piece that looks like a bay cover? and a non-descript 2" plastic part. Obviously, I'm not a computer guy, but I can't find mention anywhere, of any of these parts being included.

The hardware is to add a Optical Drive, the cables can be also used for a extra hard drive.

Thanks Larry, That makes sense, I guess. Just found it odd that no mention anywhere about the parts, or adding optical. Thanks again for the quick reply.

4 years age, my TC895 came with the bag and an installed Optical Drive.

I did use a cable for a hard drive.

No mention of the bag nor instructions ???

I did some more poking around, and found a review on PC Mag.com, they mentioned that ,

"Two 3.5-inch drives can be installed, for which Acer conveniently provides mounting hardware and SATA and power cables in the box."

(Costco's model number is TC-1785, and has a couple bumps in spec's). So I guess mystery solved. I do wish they would have included a "quick start" guide, and or a physical manual (download only).

    Thank again

Just some advice, you should always include a caption with a question like you are asking, it simplifies and makes it allot clearer for us to give you advice. The TC-1785 parts that you got are the following Acer part numbers and also the "optical door with open button" is for the desktops case if you ever fit the optional ODD/DVD recorder. player as listed below.
