In settings it doesn’t offer any network options, only Ethernet.

How to Turn On WiFi on an Acer Aspire 5 Laptop

    1. Check the WiFi button
      • Make sure the WiFi button (usually Fn + F3) is pressed to enable WiFi.
      • If your Aspire 5 has a physical WiFi switch, ensure it is in the ON position.
    2. Disable Airplane Mode
      • Click the WiFi icon in the taskbar and check if Airplane Mode is turned on (blue icon).
      • If so, turn it off to enable WiFi.

If above methods didn't work. Troubleshoot in Device Manager

    • Open Device Manager and expand Network Adapters.
    • Right-click on the WiFi adapter and select Uninstall device.
    • Restart your laptop and Windows will reinstall the driver.

It would help if you would tell us the exact Aspire 5 laptops model number like A515-XX or similar that you have, as we could give you the latest Wi-Fi driver for your laptop especially if its running the MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi/BT card as its latest driver is the version: 24.34.2.570 dated: 4/05/2024 and this driver will not fail like the version that you have installed on your Aspire 5.

Try to refresh the existing Wi-Fi driver in Device Manager or if that doesn't work then you need to completely reinstall the Wi-Fi driver again with the oem Acer driver for your Aspire 5 laptop model.

To refresh or reinstall a previous driver on your laptop that worked do this:

Go to > Device Manager > Network adapters > select the whichever Wi-Fi Card your Aspire 5 has, its usually an MediaTek card > right click the card Properties > Driver > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer > and then pick the latest Wi-Fi driver that is in that list, and reinstall that driver, as afterwards your Wi-Fi should work, Good luck and hope this has helped you out.

Is your Aspire 5 the A515-56 number, as that comes up as the model N2206, don't use this model number as your Aspire 5 is known and its ID is the A515-56-XXXX number😁

So, the A515-56 has the below oem Wi-Fi/BT cards fitted by Acer, Go to Device Manager > Network adapters and see which exact card your laptop has, as you need to install the latest Wi-Fi driver version to fix this problem.
