When I press the on button, the fan comes on but the PC doesn't boot up. If I keep trying by switching off and unplugging it for a while, it does eventually boot up but this can take an hour or more. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Which model Acer AIO PC do you have, as that would really help to give you an accurate guide. It could be that the power button might need changing as a PC will not power on or it will be very hard to power on if its power button is partially making contact, which it seems that your AIO power button seems top be doing.

If that is not the problem, then do a Hard Reset by opening the back cover and then take the bios battery out(replace bios battery if the AIO PC is older than 4 years) and short the bios batteries + & - pins at the motherboard space as that rests the CMOS also, then take the ram module(s) out and leave the PC like that for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight) as this reset the EC and Chipset chips that govern allot of commands in your PC including the boot process.

Afterwards, reconnect everything and if you have 2x ram modules, then only reconnect 1x ram module and alternate the ram modules connection to see if its the ram that could be faulty and causing this boot problem, as after you have done the hard reset your AIO PC should fully boot, so try this out first.

If the Hard Reset doesn't work then your AIO PC has a power rail problem, and it need for you to take the PC to a technician so he/she can pinpoint the exact fault. Good luck and hope this fixes your problem.

Thank you for the response. I'm not very good with tech stuff but I think my PC is a C24-865.

I think I'll take up your suggestion of taking to a technician. Thanks again.
