Acer Spin won't start. Battery light flashes blue slowly

I know this is a common question, but grateful for a definitive answer. My Acer Spin is 2.5 years old, and went dead whilst in use last week. The original battery flashed orange slowly and then blue flashing once charged, but the machine still appears completely dead. The battery has been replaced and the situation is the same (slow blue flashing light, but it won't start). Are there other checks I can make. I am OK to take the back off the machine and have multi-meters etc. that I can use to check voltages / currents. Any help would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately there isn't a "fixes all" solution. The flashing shows the system believes the battery has a problem, but not really what the root cause might be. Most often the issue is simply that the internal stats on the battery are corrupted, so it reports bogus numbers to the system, but if you replaced the battery that's not likely any longer. Sometimes the third party batteries don't actually meet spec and do the same thing, report bogus numbers. There no good way to check to see what the battery is reporting though… If you told us which Spin model you have, we could look up some of the battery characteristics for you and you could check to standard stuff, voltages at least. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SPxxx-xxx-xxxx.
