Acer Nitro AN14-41: Nitro Sense & scenarios not working, says the laptop is always on battery

I only got my Acer Nitro AN14-41 last month and Nitro Sense has been working without problems until now. When I'm gaming it no longer detects the GPU and shows no temperatures or other statistics. The fans don't seem to work properly when gaming either. When I go to scenario/modes on Nitro Sense it always says the laptop is on battery even though it's not (picture 1). I get blank pop-ups that freeze Nitro Sense completely (pictures 2 and 3).

I've tried everything. I've reinstalled Nitro Sense from the Acer website, finding the download link via my products → my laptop model → applications. I've updated it on Windows Store. I've rebooted my laptop several times. I've used it on battery and then plugged it back in. When I do this, Nitro Sense briefly says the laptop is on AC but when I go to manage scenarios, it gives me a blank pop-up, freezes completely, and has to be rebooted. When I open Nitro Sense again, it says I'm on battery. Rinse and repeat. Even if I get to the scenarios control section, I get another blank pop-up and the whole thing freezes again.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? It's driving me crazy.

Ok, so I kinda feel like an ****.

I went to check Windows updates - this thing should be downloading updates automatically especially since I've rebooted this about a dozen times today. But you know, I thought it wouldn't hurt to check anyway.

Turns out, the system found a few updates. I downloaded them. I rebooted the laptop. And just like magic: NitroSense works! The statistics graphics look different - a bit funky tbh - but they're there.

This post is now your unscheduled reminder to always check Windows updates when there's a problem.

I hope that you are not using a small USB-C charger but the 230-Watt barrel plug power adapter that comes with this laptop? I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country and include the power adapter as the warranty is still valid.

Yes, I'm using the charger that came with the laptop. I haven't changed anything, Nitro Sense just stopped working a few days ago for no reason at all. The laptop (Windows 11) recognizes when it's on battery and when it's not, and loads the battery without any problems. It seems NitroSense is the problem here?

Please try these troubleshooting steps:-

Uninstalled both acer nitrosense app and acer nitro sense service
Reboot
Download latest Nitro sense drivers from support page
Run setup.exe first. It will install only acer nitrosense services.
Go to the folder "v3.01.3000" found in the same drivers folder and first install all appx named ".NET native Framework" and "VCLibs" [both x64 and x86]
One or more apps will fail giving errors like "the resources which it modifies are currently in use". Ignore it.
Now install the last one 'APPXBUNDLE" type. [be sure to tick "launch when ready"]
Now Nitro Sense should open perfectly. If not try again after a reboot.

Thank you for the instructions! Unfortunately, this didn't fix my problem.

I completed all the steps and installed all those APPXBUNDLEs, and NitroSense does open. I get it off from battery mode by plugging it out and back into AC power. But it still won't show the GPU or any statistics. And the scenarios/modes seem to be broken. For example, if I click on the new scenario/mode profile, I get another blank pop-up and NitroSense freezes (see picture) - I can't close the pop-up.

Any other ideas?
