The above post about the oem 135W PSU from the Nitro ANV15-41 laptop that stopps charging in gaming, in general, if you use a higher wattage power supply in a computer that’s otherwise working properly, nothing will happen, and the computer will operate normally.

A higher wattage does imply more power. A lightbulb drawing 100 W uses more power than one drawing only 50 W. The confusion is that power supplies are rated in watts for the maximum amount of power they can deliver. This doesn’t mean they use this amount of power; only that they are capable of delivering that much power if the device they are powering requires it so its adjustable and more wattage will be drawn as required.

    • The Nitro ANV15-41 has an oem PSU of 135W
    • The Nitro ANV16-41 has an oem PSU of 230W
    • The Nitro ANV16-51 has the higher wattage PSUs of either 230W or 330W

Below are 230W PSUs from the Nitro AN16-51 laptop that will fit the Nitro ANV15-41 laptop barrel plug that has a barrel plug size of 1.7x5.5x11:

Hi, consider getting a 180-Watt power adapter as 135-Watt delivers insufficient power for the RTX 4060 dGPU that draws 115 Watt, I recommend at least a 180-Watt adapter Power adapter for Acer Nitro V 16 ANV16-41-R6RA ANV16-41-R6XU 135W (power-adapter-store.com) or turn off Turbo Mode and use Balanced Power Plan with Best Power Efficiency mode in Power & Battery settings. Reducing the workload like uninstalling all the bloatware, freebees, 3rd-party browsers like Opera and antivirus programs that run constantly at the background (online) will also help, check your background processes in Task Manager those should not be much more than 70 and check your available memory maybe you should upgrade RAM (VRAM). Leave the adapter plugged in 24/7 and make sure the battery is always fully charged (100%).

Hi, perfectly safe to increase the power with only 45 Watt, the dGPU is too powerful for the 135-Watt adapter when using maximum graphics/Turbo Boost. The one I posted earlier ($35) is a good one, but make sure you tick the 180-Watt model, with the correct AC cord plug for your country when you order: https://www.power-adapter-store.com/power_adapter_for_acer_nitro_v_16_anv16-41-r6ra_anv16-41-r6xu_135w.html?tag=acer%20anv16-41-r6xu%20battery%20charger

I have the exact problem. Is the 180-Watt model enough for the Nitro V 16? Or should I buy the 230-Watt model instead?

It doesn't feel right to buy a gaming laptop hoping it will deliver as it should, just to realize you have to spend more because the original adapter is not enough 😔

I have the ANV16-41 and bought the 230-Watt model, but I'm still facing battery draining. What am I doing wrong? I'm not even using the Turbo mode.

I'm considering returning it, I don't want to be worried about the draining, I want to plug it in and play with it for hours.

This very serious. The laptop can have a fatal design flaw. We need clarification why many people are reporting this even though they are using a 230 w charger.
