It would help if you would tell us exsactly what is the model number of the Aspire 7 i5 12th Gen laptop that you have, as then we can give you a much more precise answer. Anyway, if your laptop is the Aspire A715-76G model then when you cleaned the back you must have loosened or unplugged the keyboard power cable out of its mainboard plug, check that connection that I’ve shown below..

Check the red circled are below, as D is the laptops Keyboard Backlight FPC cable and C is the Keyboard FPC main connection to the mainboard, as you must have disconnected that plug while you were cleaning the laptop and that is why you don't have a keyboard backlight.

Thank you for answering the question.

My model no is aspire A715-51G. If you can provide directions to solve this problem with required pictures. It would be very useful.

You need to take the DVD out first (its got a 1x screw that holds that on) then take the RAM and HDD out then the 16 screws of the Back Cover off your laptop and pry the back cover off holding and pulling from its left and rights sides until the cover comes off:

Then you get to this part of the mainboard where the backlight plug is and on the older A715-51G laptop the Backlight FPC is @ (E) below:
