Hi everyone, i just won a aspire v3 571g in a local online auction, and it has a i5 3210m. I am thinking about upgrading it to i7 3740qm because of the power. I have seen multiple users on userbenchmark with their v3 running i7 3740qm, but nobody on the internet is physically saying that it works with the cpu, and i dont see even refurbished pcs selling with that cpu. On online forums, i see everyone talking about the i7 3720qm as the max upgrade option. But why? They have both same socket, tdp, chipset and basically they are the same but one has 100Mhz more. Can someone say that he has this cpu and it works? Thanks in advance, pardon my english.

The Aspire V3-571G laptop is an excellent laptop but its very prone to overheating and you defenitly need to use a tablet cooler to cool this laptop off, and by upgrading the cpu to a higher end type i7-3730QM which will work 100% and even the Core i7-3840QM will work 100% but the laptop will work VERY HOT that you will not be able to touch the bottom of the laptop as you will be able to fry an egg🤣on it, that is why YOU NEED TO ONLY use the below oem Acer cpu's! The cpu and gpu thermal module and fan of this laptop CAN NOT dissipate the extra heat as its an old and not a really good cooling system even for the oem cpu's listed below, so be VERY aware of all this and DO NOT upgrade the cpu to anything other than the oem Acer listed cpu's below!

I've owned this same laptop since new and its an excellent laptop if you run it to its oem specs like and with the cpu's and ram and a 2.5" SSD like a Samsung 870 EVO, my V3-571G has the i7-3610QM cpu, 8GB ram @ 2x DDR3-1866MT/s and runs Win-10 Pro on an old 2.5" Samsung 850 EVO SSSD drive and it runs perfectly but still runs very hot, so be aware of all these factors. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

You can run DDR3-1866MT/s type speed memory with this laptop @ 8GB 2x 4GB DD3-1866MT/s max ONLY, this laptop does not run on a total of 16GB ram @ 2x 8GB DDR3, so be aware of this:

The thermal module below of the V3-571G and its fan are not adequate enough for this laptop cooling of its cpu and gpu and that is why this laptop runs very hot, you can alleviate and assist heat dispersion by increasing ventilation holes into its case that will assist in its crossflow ventilation (as there are guides on the web).

Thank you, and about the 16 gig ram, i did not exactly understand it. Several people online are saying that 16 gig ddr3 is working just fine. You said that the max is only 8 gigs. What does it depend on?
