Hi,

Recently I bought new headphones Steelseries Arctis 1 and when I plug them in my laptop Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G the window pops up asking what type of device has been plugged (for some reason the option headphones appear 2 times). Upon choosing headphones option and pressing ok nothing happens. The headphones won't appear in device manager nor anywhere else. I tried every option from the pop up window and none of them do anything.

I tried updating Realtek Audio drivers from acer Drivers and Manuals.

I cannot download Realtek Control App or something like that, because it doesn't show up in microsoft store and if I try to download it from microsoft website it shows that a problem occurred and it cannot be installed.

There is no way of deleting the device or anything since it has never been plugged in and it doesn't show up in device manager.

Any ways to fix that?

It sounds like there might be an issue with driver detection or configuration. Here are a few steps to try:

    1. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your system is fully updated.
    2. Reinstall Audio Drivers: Uninstall and reinstall the Realtek audio drivers from the Acer website.
    3. Check Audio Settings: Go to Sound Settings > Manage Audio Devices and see if the headphones appear there.
    4. Try a Different Port: Plug the headphones into a different audio jack.
    5. Update BIOS: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop.

If these steps don't work, consider reaching out to Acer support for further assistance.

    1. Did all the available updates for windows, also the optional ones and the issue still isn't fixed.

    2. Reinstalled audio drivers previously as said in the post.

    3. They don't appear in sound settings.

    4. I don't have a different port in my laptop since I'm connecting on jack.

    5. My system is running on the newest available version of bios for my acer, I checked on the support website.
